Google Ads Search Management: Show Up When People Search for What You Sell
A Google Ads search campaign shows a text ad when someone searches for words you bid on, and you pay when the ad is clicked. Search ads management is part of our PPC services: we build the account, choose the keywords, write the ads, set the bidding, track conversions and report on what the spend returned.
The account stays in your name. You can see every keyword, ad and charge, and we explain each change we make.

What a Google Ads Search Campaign Is
You choose the searches you want to appear for, write the ad text and bid on each click. Google then decides which ads show, and in what order, through an auction. The factors Google publishes are your bid, the quality of your ads and landing page, minimum ad thresholds, how competitive the auction is, the context of the search such as location, device and time, and the expected effect of assets such as sitelinks and call buttons.
Because quality counts as well as money, a well built account can appear above a competitor who bids more. Google’s Quality Score, a 1 to 10 diagnostic built from expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance and landing page experience, shows which of those three is below average, so we know what to fix first.
Who Search Campaigns Are For
Search campaigns suit businesses whose customers already know what they need and type it into Google: service companies that want calls, law firms and medical practices booking consultations, and online stores selling products people search for by name. If nobody searches for what you sell yet, awareness channels such as social media ads should come first. You also need a landing page that answers the search and someone who follows up on the leads.
What the Management Includes
Account and conversion setup
We open the account in your name or audit the one you have, and set up conversion tracking for the actions that matter: calls, forms, bookings or purchases. Google’s automated bidding needs that tracking, so it is done before any ad runs.
Keyword research and match types
We build keyword lists from the words your customers actually use, choose exact, phrase or broad match for each, and keep a negative keyword list so ads stop showing for searches you cannot serve.
Ad copy and assets
Responsive search ads take up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, which Google combines differently for each search. We write them so every combination reads correctly, then add sitelinks, callouts and call buttons that give people a direct way to reach you.
Bidding and budget
We set the budget from what a new customer is worth to you, then choose a bid strategy to match: simpler bidding while the account gathers data, and Google’s Target CPA, Target ROAS or Maximize Conversions once there are enough conversions to learn from.
Landing pages
A slow or generic landing page wastes the click you paid for. We review the page behind each ad group and fix what needs fixing with our web development team.
How It Works, Step by Step
1. Consultation. We learn what you sell, where, what a new customer is worth, and what has been tried before.
2. Build. Tracking, campaign structure, keywords, negatives, ads and budget are set up and walked through with you before launch.
3. Launch and the first month. We check spend daily, read the search terms report to see the real searches behind each click, and add negatives.
4. Ongoing optimization. Weekly review of search terms, bids and budgets, new ad variations tested, and landing page changes where the data points to them.
5. Monthly report. Spend, clicks, conversions and cost per conversion in plain language, with what we recommend next.
How to Measure the Results
Conversions and cost per conversion: how many calls, forms, bookings or sales the ads produced, and what each cost. This decides whether the budget should grow.
Conversion rate: the share of clicks that converted, which shows whether a problem sits in the keywords, the ads or the landing page.
Search impression share: how often your ad showed out of the times it was eligible, which shows whether budget or rank is holding it back.
Cost per click and Quality Score: useful for diagnosis, not as goals. Google says Quality Score is not a performance indicator or an auction input, so we use it to find weak spots.
Google decides placement by auction and search volume depends on your market, so we do not promise a position, a click count or a cost per lead.
How It Connects to Our Other Services
Search campaigns are the core of our PPC services and part of our wider search engine marketing work. Home service and professional businesses often run them alongside Local Services Ads, which charge per lead instead of per click. Local SEO earns free placements for many of the same searches, and our phone call tracking shows which keyword and ad produced each call.
Google Ads Search Questions
How much should I budget for Google Ads search campaigns?
There is no fixed figure, because click prices are set by auction and vary by industry and location. We work backwards from what a new customer is worth to you and start at a level where results can be measured in the first month.
How soon will search ads produce results?
Ads can start showing once Google approves them, so the first clicks usually arrive within days. Learning which keywords and ads produce customers takes longer, because conversions need to build up and Google’s automated bidding needs that history. Expect the first month to be about learning.
Should my keywords use broad match?
Broad match shows your ad for searches related to a keyword, even ones without its words, and Google advises pairing it with automated bidding. We usually start new accounts on exact and phrase match, then test broad match on a controlled budget with strong negatives, and keep it only where it converts at an acceptable cost.
